About Velsaid 40Mg Tablet

Velsaid 40Mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps to relieve the pain of menstruation and dysmenorrhea. Additionally, it can be used as a pain-relieving drug in patients of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoporosis. It works by preventing the production of prostaglandin, a compound responsible for causing inflammation and pain. It is able to achieve this selectively inhibiting the action of the cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme, which plays an important role in the conversion of arachidionic acid to prostaglandin.

The medicine usually stays in the body for 30 – 45 hours and is gradually excreted out from the body via urine. The drug cause complications if it is used together with other drugs like aceclofenac, balsalazide, benorilate, etc. The drug can cause side effects of nausea, edema, increased blood pressure, dyspepsia, constipation, and diarrhea among others. In case of overdose if symptoms like vomiting blood, bloody stool, swelling of face, legs and fingers, troubled breathing, etc. manifest, you should seek medical assistance immediately. In case of pregnancy, the drug has been found to cause adverse effects for the fetus in some cases.     During the inflammation process, COX-1 and COX-2 catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to lipid autacoids prostaglandin (PG) H2, which is the precursor of PGs and thromboxane. This medication selectively inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme.
