About Xalacom Eye Drop

Xalacom Eye Drop is a drop used for treating ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. These drops are a prostaglandin analog. This medicine regulates the fluid drainage from the eye. This lowers increased pressure in the eye which further prevents blindness.

On using Xalacom Eye Drop you may experience side effects such as itchiness, dry eyes, skin darkening, joint pain, cough, chest pain, swelling, difficulty in breathing, wheezing, eye redness and stinging. Xalacom Eye Drop has a tendency of causing discoloration of the iris. Seek medical attention if you face any allergic reaction that causes discomfort.

Before using Xalacom Eye Drop notify your doctor if: you are allergic to any ingredient contained within Xalacom Eye Drop, you have any other allergies, you have any infection/swelling/injury of the eyes, you are already taking medications, you have a history of inflammation, herpes, you are scheduled for an eye surgery, you have other types of glaucoma, you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.

Ideally the dosage should be determined by your doctor based on your condition. The usual dose is about 0.005% or one drop into each infected eye.
