Information about Adeno Cobal Suspension

Adeno Cobal Syrup contains Adenosylcobalamin, Beta carotene, Carbonyl Iron, Vitamin E, and Folic acid (Vitamin B9). Adeno Cobal syrup slows down the process that damage cells.
Folic acid is used in the indication of Folate deficiency, Megaloblastic anemia in pregnancy, and malabsorption syndromes. Vitamin B9 is recommended for females pregnancy planning and should take 1-3 months prior to conception; this reduces the risk of neural tube defects.
Vitamin E is used in the indication of retrolental fibroplasia in premature infants, intermittent claudication, fibrocystic breast disease and nocturnal muscle cramps. It is also used as supplementation in cystic fibrosis.
Adeno Cobal Syrup is commonly used for the treatment of anaemia, Chest pain, Heart attack, High blood pressure, Vitamin B12 deficiency, and leg pain due to blocked arteries.

Hi doctor, my father is diagnosed with ca. Lung - adeno carcinoma with egfr mutation stage 4 advanced with plural effusion as origin. He had severe cough and also fluid formation in left lung which almost half filled the left lung. The fluid is removed by surgery and then further tests are carried out. Ct, histopathology, ihc, and gene analysis were done. Medical oncologist suggested afatinib 40 mg and it is working fine since 3 years as his gene analysis showed above 90% mutation that can be controlled by gefitinib and only 3% comprises of t790m which may not work and develop resistance later. Last week pet scan shown no signs of tumor, however cea continue to be above 24-26 over last 6 months. However, afatinib 40 mg is too expensive drug and to continue using and has become problematic for the family to support using this medicine. Can we can switch to erlotinib 150 mg or gefitinib instead of afatinib? Will this give same results now as afatinib? What are the risks involved? Please advise alternatives that are cost effective.

Sorry to know about the condition of your father. Afatinib is better than erlotinib or gefitinib with respect to results but is costlier. I would suggest you discuss with your treating oncologist and plan ahead.

Pleural effusion my friend has a adeno lung cancer stage 4 she has completed 6 round of carbo/pem on 26/11/20 her ct scan was on 10/12/20 an she was considered stable an the doctor will stop chemo and to re do the ct in feb he was totally happy with her results. Suddenly one 23/dec she star to cough a lot and to have a shoulder and shoulder blade pain and short breath while working she went to the er and they find pleural effusion and now they have drained 2000 ml so far I wonder how this can happen sudden and did not show in her ct scan in 10 dec how can cancer spread so fast in 2 weeks.

Yes. This may happen in some cases. Typically after 6 cycles of double agent chemotherapy we keep patient on maintainance therapy with pemetrexed till disease progression. Else pt will need to be put on 2 nd line chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Other options include oral targeted therapy if she is positive for either of mutations like egfr, alk, ros 1, met, braf which can be checked on biopsy tissue.

My mother (Age 50) was a diabetic, adeno carcinoma stomach (since 1 year) with heart stent was placed 5 years ago. She has edema in her legs, ankle, thigh since 3 days. When we consulted regional cancer centre they have tested the blood. In blood test we have noticed that the albumin is 1.4 gm/dL and protein was 3.4 gm/dL. She is feeling heavy in her abdomen and we have gone for tapping and found that no fluid was coming out and still my mother was feeling heavy in her abdomen serum creatinine test was normal (1). She was using furosemide (water pill) but she was not getting urine frequently it was 500 mL to 1000 mL per day she can't eat anything she is feeling heavy. Doctor said that eat high protein food we are giving 3 eggs per day and milk with protein powder. What to do now? Please give me a suggestion.

Mam, please see a cardiologist also. The edema can be due to the cardiac condition. Please get a Pet-CT to assess the situation of the stomach cancer. If she has omental metastasis even then she can have abdominal distention with loss of appetite. You haven't mentioned any ultrasound or CT report. 400 ml urine is enough for a normal adult. Hence she needs further investigation for us to have a clear picture.

My brother has pleural effusion. Which has diagnosed with adeno carcinoma. How frequently we have to take out water. Doctors say it has reached to bones. What are the survival chances and survival period. He is 63 years old and in good health.
