Alkem ORS powder is a WHO based ORS (oral rehydration salt) formula. It contains Dextrose along with sodium chloride, potassium chloride and sodium citrate. It helps to restore body fluid and electrolyte which has been lost due to dehydration in diarrhea, vomiting, muscle cramps and exertional heat illness.

Sodium chloride helps to maintain the balance of fluid in our body. Potassium chloride helps to maintain water balance and distribution. It also helps in muscle and nerve functions, heart functions, kidney and adrenal function. Dextrose Anhydrous commonly known as glucose helps to provide instant energy to our body.

Uses:

Directions to use:

Read the instructions given on the packet. According to the given information, dissolve the contents of the packet in the amount of water as mentioned on the packet. Make sure you are using drinking water. Mix it well before drinking. Make use of normal water. Also be careful while mixing the right amount of water, if you use too little water it could make your condition worse.

Hello, Yes ORS should be taken , as electrolyte loss prevention is a priority in diarrhoea . Also dehydration in itself can raise sugar levels.

ORS need not have to be taken regularly. It is to be taken when there is extreme dehydration only. Taking ORS once in a while wiil not make much difference in the blood sugar level of a diabetes patient
