L-Methylfolate (active form of folic acid) is used for dietary management of low blood cell folate level in certain patients. Folic Acid is proven to reduce the risk of neural tube defects (NTDs) and birth defects. Many people are unable to fully convert regular folic acid to L-methylfolate.
