My baby is 3.5 month old, His hair is falling drastically for last few days, While bathing combing so many hair, Last month he had dandruff on his scalp, I am using spoo shampoo, What to do for this hair fall, I don't use oil on his scalp or hair. Should I use any?

General Physician, Vadodara
Hair fall is common in babies during the first few months of life, but if you are noticing a significant amount of hair loss, it's best to consult a pediatrician. Dandruff can also contribute to hair fall, so it's good that you are using an anti-dandruff shampoo. However, you should avoid using any other hair products on your baby's scalp as it can cause irritation. You can massage your baby's scalp gently with coconut oil or almond oil before bathing. This can help moisturize the scalp and reduce dandruff. But make sure to wash off the oil thoroughly during the bath. Additionally, make sure your baby is getting proper nutrition as a deficiency in certain vitamins and minerals can also cause hair fall. Please leave a positive review, if you have found my answer helpful. Consult me on Lybrate or for proper diagnosis and treatment. My consultation fee is just 50 rs.

No it is safe to avoid. Regarding online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin or I have thyroid disease, cannot help a discerning doctor give a scientific advice. 2) it is necessary at times to know where you stay to give a good advice. (for example if there the climate is warm or cold and many other factors) 3) it is necessary to keep in regular touch in case of new-born babies and for some diseases like diabetes and hypertension. So make it a point to be in touch by asking private questions. And repeat the essential point of the previous question to give a continuing answer.
