Hi I am diagnosed with schizophrenia I am taking medicine for 8 years need get out of medicine please help me I had mercury amalgam removed by a regular dentist not completely but some part still remain since it is very deep, when I visit psychiatrist they ask me to go job my sleep is not improving by medicine please help.

Dear lybrate-user, Please write in detail about the medicines that you are taking. Mercury amalgam does not have any effect on schizophrenia or sleep disturbances. If you are finding any improvement with medicines, you should not think of get out of medicines. Job is a must at this age of 32 years. It is not for earning alone. It is to keep your brain occupied. If your sleep is disturbed, please consult your psychiatrist again, he/she may diagnose and treat it.
