Dear lybrateuser, - To increase your hemoglobin & to maintain it you have to have a well balanced diet with more of iron rich foods such as beans, lentils, peas, green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, broccoli, whole grains, fortified cereals, nuts such as almonds, pista, dried fruits, dates, organ meats, non veg, fruits, Jagger, sesame seeds - can take a supplement of iron & vitamins to improve the level.

This has to be investigated appropriately. Need to exclude blood loss- check iron profile. Look at rest of the CBC indices. If these are normal, then more tests will be indicated to get to the bottom of the problem. Suggest seeing a General Physician with Haematology interest or a Haematologist. Best wishes.
