Dear doctor (s) I have the following clarification:- (a) do the modern tools like trimmers or clippers spread hiv in any case since they cannot be replaced and are reused over and again. Is it possible that hair, pus, skin cells or invisible blood may get trapped in their blades and with a superficial cut (due to acne, pimples etc being scratched) they may spread hiv or hep to the next customer? B) if a barber uses a straight razor with disposable blades and uses a new blade every time is that enough to prevent the risk of hiv with the blade handle (that is used to carry the blade in the razor) not being wiped or cleaned and a new blade is inserted simply into it? C) what precautionary measures (in terms of hygiene for eg using an antiseptic like dettol to simply wipe the used instruments like trimmers, clippers, scissors etc) can be taken while getting a haircut done to minimize the risk of hiv or other blood borne viruses like hepatitis?
