I have tpo of 109. I am suffering from hypothyroidism. I am given 450 mcg of levothyroxine a week. Please help me with how can I cure hypothyroidism. I want to get cured.

Madam, Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disorder, where your thyroid gland is not producing adequate amount of T4(Thyroxine) hormone so you need to supplement the same from outside. There is no other treatment. Another aspect TPO s(Thyroid Per Oxidase antibodies) are high means the reason for developing hypothyroidism is an autoimmune one. However, the treatment is to take adequate amount of Levothyroxine every day and maintain TSH level within normal limit. Ideally it should be around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms are well controlled. Please remember there is NO CURE for this condition. You will have to take the prescribed dosage of Levothyroxine tablets for lifetime. If your free t4 and tsh are in the normal range on your current dose of levothyroxine, your hypothyroidism is under good control.
