After covid doctor prescribed to take insulin "human activity" 14 unit before breakfast, 22 unit before lunch, 10 unit before diner and on bedtime 30 unit of tresiba flexitouch. Where" wysolone was running for 15 days. Now the insulin is running after wysolone stopped. Now his fasting 150, pp 230. Before covid, glycomet gp2 2 times pioz 30 was his medicines. Will he take the tablets in place of insulin?

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. There is no mention of his age, hba1c%, dietary pattern and extent of exercise being done by the patient. Before any suggestion can be made I need to know all the above plus bp readings, lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea. Usually once steroids are stopped, glucose levels which very very high due to that are likely to be comparatively better controlled. But it does take a few days. Stopping insulin suddenly is not advisable. My suggestion is please come with all the necessary information in a private conversation then I will be able to give specific guidelines as well as necessary prescription.
