All babies do not grow too fast and each baby has his or her own pace of growth. You need to make sure he or she gets all the nutrients and takes timely foods and also check the thyroid status as hypothyroidism can lead to retarded growth. The standard growth formula states that a baby reaches thrice his birth weight by one year of age. Make sure to give all homemade foods, fruits and vegetables and do not force feed and just leave the food plate accessible to him and let him try and eat all the food items at his own pace. Thus you encourage his eating habits.
