I am 29 years old. Doctor I gave birth to a baby boy last week. He is normal and doing good but he has extra skin in his right toe. It seems to be an extra one. What does it mean if you have six toes?

It is quite normal to have six fingers or toes and the condition is known as polydactyly. 1 out of every 500 to 100 children born have polydactyly. The new born babies have at least six fingers on one or both the hands and six toes on or both the feet. The condition is normal and it generally does not have any severe complications.
