About Glimestar Pm 2 Tablet

This medication is used for treating patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes. It is used in combination with other antidiabetic medicines. This is a type of sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine that helps the pancreas in releasing insulin which helps in reducing the blood sugar level. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas.

    How does this medication work?

    This is a combination of three drugs that works differently. Firstly, it lowers the blood glucose by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells. Secondly, Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing bodies glucose uptake and utilization. Lastly, Pioglitazone activates peroxisome proliferator activator receptor causing an increase in the production of components that breaks down lipids and glucose in the body. It also increases insulin response without effecting its secretion.
