About Anti Thyroperoxidase Antibody/Anti Microsomal Antibody Test

Anti-Thyroid peroxidase antibodies test is performed on a sample of blood to measure the amount of Anti TPO Antibodies within the blood. it's performed to substantiate autoimmune Thyroid Disorder and additionally throughout the treatment and once the treatment of autoimmune Thyroid Disorder is over. It is also referred to as TPO Antibodies ELISA Blood, Anti TPO Antibodies ELISA Blood, Thyroid peroxidase Antibodies and TPO Antibodies test. In patients with subclinical hypothyroidism, the presence of TPO antibodies is related to an inflated risk of developing overt hypothyroidism. Your endocrinologist may prescribe this test to decide whether or not to treat you with subclinical hypothyroidism.
