About Insulin - Random Test

The insulin-random test is conducted randomly as the name suggests, to test the insulin levels in the blood. Insulin is produced in our body by the pancreas and its deficiency and resistance is what causes Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes respectively. This test is usually done to check the metabolic syndrome and prediabetes. When people complain of symptoms which the doctor suspects as related to insulin levels, this test is done to decide the further course of action. The reference range for this test is the same across all genders and ages. This test is a part of diabetes management and helps in the detection of insulinoma.
