Chyluria test is performed on a sample of urine to measure the level of Fat Content in urine. Chyluria or chylous urine means the presence of chyle in the urine, which results in milky urine. The nematode Wuchereria bancrofti is behind the menace. The lymph laden with fat that has been absorbed from the intestine is responsible for the milky appearance. Chyle consists of the lymph and lipid particles called chylomicrons, which are composed of fats and proteins. If chyluria is left untreated, it can lead to malnutrition and fat-soluble vitamin deficiency. Chyluria can also affect pregnancy or childbirth.
