The human pancreas releases an enzyme called lipase which helps in the breaking down of fats in the food that we take in. It also helps in the movement of the cell nutrients and cell waste towards the wall of the cells. While lipase is significant for the digestion of food in our body, its abnormal levels indicate health problems which in long run can affect the human pancreas. The lipase test therefore, measure the amount of lipase in our body. It diagnoses the possible risks to the pancreas along with the digestive working of the cell.
