About Myoglobin, Urine Test

Myoglobin is in fact, a kind of protein in our body. One can find Myoglobin in the skeletal and heart muscle. Skeletal muscle is usually the one we think of as muscle all through our body. This muscle is vital for the proper functioning of our body movements and musculoskeletal system. Myoglobin also works as a pigment that helps in transporting oxygen to our muscles while performing various daily activities. In case, your muscle has been damaged because of a breach in a coronary artery, infection of tumor processes or neurological trauma, myoglobin is released into the bloodstream and your kidneys filter it and are excreted from the body through urine.
