A salmon is one of the most highly allergenic fish species. A salmon allergy is an adverse reaction by the body’s immune system to foods containing salmon or salmon. The body’s immune system produces IgE antibody and histamine in response to contact with the allergen. The symptoms that can result from a salmon allergy can vary considerably among the patient right from severe headaches, eczema, abdominal symptoms, asthma to anaphylactic reaction. A salmon allergic reaction may indicate individual sensitivity to all kinds of shellfish and fish. The patients are requested to avoid eating all types of fish products and also to stay away from seafood markets and preparation areas.
