About Cadmium Test

A cadmium lab test is a type of blood test which is typically done, to check for the possibility of cadmium poisoning or when there is a need to keep a check on exposure to the metal element known as cadmium. This means that overexposure to cadmium can cause a wide range of health problem because it is extremely toxic to the health. This test is not so common but is prescribed by the doctors or physician suffering from serious disorders in health. The test is generally for those workers involved in the manufacture of cadmium products or for those individuals who have significant cadmium exposure. Exposure to cadmium can also cause lung disease or kidney disease as the heavy metal can get into our bloodstream such as drinking cadmium tainted water or by other means.
