A person’s immune system recognizes the invading harmful attackers like viruses which are covered with antigens. As soon as the invaders attack, the immune system produces antibodies which kill the viruses. Sometimes the immune system starts producing autoantibodies which destroy body’s healthy cells. Such case is known as the autoimmune disorder. The presence of Endomysial autoantibody leads to Celiac disease. The patient with Celiac disease shows an inappropriate response to gluten which is present in wheat, rye and barley. A person body with celiac disease, when consumes gluten, produces autoantibodies which damage the intestinal villi. This results in the decreased capability of villi to absorb food resulting in malnutrition and malabsorption.
