Helminthosporium Halodes, also known as Setomelanommarostrata is a mold, parasitic spores that are known to cause allergy in humans. The parasite spreads from cereal grains, grasses, textiles, and soil. The test determines the IgE antibodies status, in a patient’s blood. The methodology used is named Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay (FEIA). Helminthosporium almost normally occurs seasonally and the spores are released on dry (hot days). It is a very common mold found worldwide. Any value above 0.70kU/L is considered positive for the infection.
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided. A doctor or other healthcare professional must have an emergency equipment immediately available when such tests are performed. You need not fast before the test. Eat and drink well before going for the test. One must not stop taking medicines without the prior consultation of the doctor because such thing can affect the health of the individual. Always follow the instructions given to you by the lab instructor. These instructions are based on your condition in particular.
Testing IgE diagnoses allergic condition and identifies allergens whose warning signs emerge. In a skin prick method if a wheal like structured white bump raises surrounded by a small circle of itchy red skin or rash then you may be allergic to Heliminthosporium Halodes. In a blood test, a positive result means that you may be allergic to that substance. But however, they are also not always accurate. Test results sometimes indicate that they are positive even though you are not really allergic. Negative results always mean that you are not allergic to that substance. Often they can be false negatives i.e. results indicate that you are not allergic to any substance, even though you really are.
To determine an allergic reaction traditional Skin Prick method can be used. In a skin test, using a small plastic probe or needle the doctor will gently prick or scratches the skin and inject a tiny amount of allergen to enter into the skin. The scratching resembles a small fingernail like mark on the surface of the skin. If you're allergic, a rash (wheal) develops usually within 30 minutes. A pain-free blood test can also be used to determine the allergen substances without any irritation. Accurate results will be given within 1 to 2 days.
