Macrocytic Anemia Panel is a test which is conducted to detect whether the person is suffering from Anemia or not. It is a panel of tests which are conducted to examine different parts of the blood. In this, the complete blood counts of person are conducted. Other than that Iron w/TIBC, Ferritin, Transferrin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Erythropoietin and Reticulocyte count is conducted.

To get the test done, you do not require much preparation. First of all, book an appointment with the lab and go in comfortable clothes. Wear sleeveless or short sleeves T-Shirt as it will be easy for the person to take blood from your vein. It is advisable to go empty stomach for the test as there are a number of tests which are going to be conducted. So stay safe and go early in the morning without eating anything. This will give you clear and better results.

Macrocytic Anemia Panel is a test which is conducted to check the following conditions:- To see if the person is not suffering from Anemia To check the normal working of human body To discover if there is any infection in the blood To check the working of human organs. To see the effect in the human body after medication.

The test is conducted by taking the blood sample from the vein. In case of an infant, the blood is taken from the heel. For conducting the test, the lab technician will ask you to make a fist and tie an elastic band to your arm. They will swell up the veins as blood will be pumped up. Then he will clean the skin by using an antiseptic. After cleaning, he will make the prick and collect blood in different tubes. After collecting the blood, he will remove the elastic band first and then remove the needle. After that, he will put a cotton o it or band-aid to stop the blood from flowing. This procedure will just take up few minutes. Don't get nervous or keep moving as it will affect the technician and he won't be able to collect the blood.
