CD45 LCA Test

CD45 LCA Test

also known as: IHC Marker CD 45 Immunohistochemistry Blood, CD 45 Count Immunohistochemistry Blood, CD 45, CD 45 Count, IHC Marker CD 45

CD45 (lymphocyte common antigen) is a receptor-linked protein tyrosine phosphatase that is expressed on all leucocytes, and which plays a crucial role in the function of these cells. LCA antibody recognizes an antigen found on lymphoid cells. It reacts with B-cells, T-cell subtypes, monocytes, macrophages, and is weakly expressed with granulocytes. CD (cluster of differentiation) is used to aid the differential diagnosis of undifferentiated neoplasms, whenever lymphoma is suspected. This antibody is expressed almost exclusively by cells of hematopoietic lineage and is present in most lymphocytes. Therefore, anti-CD45 LCA is directed against CD45 and may be used to aid in the identification of normal and abnormal cells of leukocytic lineage and as an aid in the diagnosis of anaplastic tumors.

No special preparations are required. However information about previous medications or any underlying medical conditions or allergies should be disclosed. The doctor considers the factors like the kind of tumor suspected, signs, symptoms, age, medical conditions and result of earlier medical tests to determine the kind of diagnostic test that should be done. . Specific instructions will be given accordingly

Combinations of antibodies allow for Identification of specific cell types Determination of the degree of cell differentiation Recognition of abnormal cells. CD45 allows one to identify most of the important populations by a single plot. CD45 helps in determining a cell’s immunophenotype. It tends to show up more in the plasma cells during the stages of myeloma. CD45+ means there is CD45 on the surface of the cells whereas CD45- means that the same is absent.

Since, CD45 is used as a lymphocyte common antigen it is used as a marker in IHC,cytometry and other kind of diagnosis. For such diagnosis the blood sample or biopsy of the tissues is required. The procedure for blood sample is as follows- Firstly, the skin is cleaned with antiseptic and a tourniquet is placed around the upper arm to apply pressure and cause veins to swell with blood. A needle is inserted in the vein and blood is withdrawn and collected in a syringe. The blood then is saved in a vessel and sealed with your name. Biopsy is a procedure of removing a piece of tissue or a sample of cells from a person’s body so that it can be analyzed. The sample is carried to the research laboratory for examination

Average price range of the test is between Rs.1650 to Rs.2200 depending on the factors of city, quality and availablity.
