Complete blood count, also termed CBC in medical term, is a test performed to analyze the human body and to detect any sickness and disease or any imbalances which include anaemia, leukaemia, and any other infection. There is no such preparation which could be required for CBC as you can usually eat or do anything before the test. You just need to wear some comfortable clothes preferably a short sleeve shirt or t-shirt or something you can roll up the sleeve quickly without making the arms tight. However, your doctor or the lab assistant can ask you for fasting for some duration before the test if the blood sample is taken for different purpose too.

Red blood cells: If the count of red blood cells is lower than average then you are anaemic, and if it exceeds than normal it indicates severe heart diseases.
White blood cells: if the count of white blood cells is lower than usual count then you must be suffering from leukopenia and if the number exceeds than usual then it’s an indication of inflammation or some infection.
