Different Test have different ability to detect HIV
rapid testing can take 6 months
while special test can take as low as 10 days
but it s not possible to detect before 10 days.
If baby is getting fever 6-8 hourly, responding to paracetamol, in between fever active, passing normal urine (as it was before illness) and not dull then it may be viral. Any thing else need investigations on day 4.

People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
Fever* or feeling feverish/chills.
Cough.
Sore throat.
Runny or stuffy nose.
Muscle or body aches.
Headaches.
Fatigue (tiredness)
Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
In the diagnostic laboratory virus infections are confirmed by several methods
Hello.
The sensitivity of a particular test determines the lower levels of the viral load it can detect.
Some test now can detect 50 copies/ml or even 20 copies/ ml of blood.
Please see, as the test is done by you at 8 months after exposure shows "undetectable" you are HIV negative if this you want to know.
Just for general info- a 4th gen antigen, the antibody test is the recommended test for 1st screening after a suspected exposure.
Thanks.
Viral load and p24 tests are not accurate for diagnosing early hiv if the results are negative. An hiv antibody response can be detected as early as two weeks in a few people and in more than 99.9% of people by 12 weeks. An antibody test at 4 weeks will detect 95% of infections.
Dear lybrate-user,
Once an individual is diagnosed with HIV and is positive for HIV antibodies, use of ARV drugs will not cause the ELISA test for HIV antibodies to become Negative. With effective ARV combination, HIV viral load becomes undetectable in around 24 weeks of taking ARV and remains undetectable in the blood if medications are being taken regularly. This doesn't imply that the person is HIV Negative. Reaching an undetectable levels of viral load is the key goal of ART. It simply means that the viral load is so low to be detectable. You should continue to take ART to remain healthy and keep your viral load undetectable.
Hope your query is answered, but if you have any other question please revert.
Best wishes!
A viral load of > 10 000 copies/mL (2000 IU/mL) is a strong risk predictor of HCC, independent of HBeAg status, ALT level and liver cirrhosis.
Your case need to be analysed by your treating doctor based on the general conditions and other risk factors.
