IHC - Cluster of Differentiation 10 Test

IHC - Cluster of Differentiation 10 Test

CD 10 Calla test is performed on a sample of blood to measure the level of CD 10 (Calla) in the blood. It is performed to confirm Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and also during the treatment and after the treatment of the same. CD10 is normally present on the surface of early lymphoid cells as well as on a number of other types of normal cells, such as especially cells in the kidney. IHC involves the process of selectively imaging antigens in cells of a tissue section and is used in the diagnosis of abnormal cells such as those found in cancerous tumors.

No special preparation is needed for IHC Marker CD 10. You can eat and drink normally. There is no need to follow any specific diet. However, you need to inform the laboratory professional if you are on any medications or have any underlying medical conditions or allergies before undergoing IHC Marker CD 10. Consumption of certain medications can alter the test results. The laboratory professional depending on your condition will give specific instructions. You are also advised to wear a sleeveless shirt or a short sleeved shirt for ease of conducting the test.

As mentioned above, the CD 10 test is done on a sample of blood to confirm the presence of Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The normal result for IHC Marker CD 10 for CD 10 (Calla) is positive in Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, marker for Myoepithelial cells. Depending on the test results, your doctor will devise an appropriate treatment plan for you.

An alcohol pad is used to clean the skin. A needle is then injected through the part of the rinsed skin into your vein. The blood is then dragged out from the needle by a nozzle, saved in a vessel and sealed with your name. This sample is then sent to the research laboratory for examination. The research laboratory uses the Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining method on the sample of the blood collected to get the final test results.
