Immature granulocytes are WBCs which only appear when the bone marrow is activated to fight against an infection. They not only circulate blood but even if a healthy individual has a small count there should be nothing to worry at all. When actual number of immature granulocyte increase rapidly, this shows signs of an infection. The neutrophil portion of the blood count generally increases when the immature granulocytes’ levels begin to rise. This is a hint of some infections such as bacterial infection, inflammatory disease, trauma in the body, use of steriods or some cancerous conditions.
Make sure to wear a short-sleeved shirt or a shirt with sleeves that you can easily roll up. No special preparation needed for the ANC test. There’s no need to adjust your diet. You can both eat and drink normally. Tell your doctor if you have any allergies. However, your doctor may require that you fast for a specific amount of time before the test. That’s common if the blood sample is required for additional testing. Your doctor will give you specific instructions.
Apart from blood from neonates or pregnant women, immature granulocytes in the peripheral blood shows an early stage response to an infection and inflammation of the bone marrow. For better evaluation of how to get accurate measure of immature granulocyte count we need to order a differential blood count test.
During this test, a lab technician will draw blood from a vein, generally

4.cover the area with a bandage to stop any bleeding.
5.label your sample and send it to a lab for analysis.
