This test performed to analyze the level of antibodies in your body. These antibodies are known as Immunoglobin which is responsible for the healthy functioning of an immune system of your body. Immunoglobin has different parts depending on your various body components, and here we are talking about the Immunoglobin G can also be termed as IGg. IGg is a type of antibody present in all kind fluids your body poses. It is responsible for maintaining the immunity of all the body fluids including blood, plasma, etc.

IGg termed as the most common antibody consisting 70-80% of all the antibodies present in our body. Protecting immunity is essential as it will preserve living being from various kinds of disease and infections. Even the slightest infection can cause a deadly disease to our body. And these help in protecting our immune system.

The test for immunoglobulin G is like any other blood test, and the preparation is as like we prepare for the simple blood test. The test taker also known as phlebotomist will tell you to follow few steps, and you need to follow them.

You must inform your test taker about the medicines you are taking, any allergies you are having or any specific disease you are suffering irrespective of this test. The phlebotomist will take steps accordingly in such that results of IGg won't get affected.

As mentioned above, the IGg test is used to analyze the level of antibodies in all kinds of body fluids specifically blood. Due to the decreased level of immunity, many types of disease can attack you quickly and will undoubtedly affect you the high level. These tests also used detect chronic infections such as HIV or Hepatitis. When these disorders are identified, they can be treated or lessen their effects.

The expert or the phlebotomist will perform few steps before taking out the blood sample, and you need to follow the instruction he asked you to follow and must support him to avoid any injuries.

1. First, the phlebotomist will tie an elastic band above your shoulder, and this will help him to identify the veins.
2. Now he will wipe the area with spirit or antiseptic from where the blood has to be taken out.
3. After locating the area and applying the antiseptic, now he will with the help of syringe take out the blood sample according to the requirement.
4. Right after taking out the blood, he will put a bandage or cotton to stop the blood coming out.

This procedure is not suitable for the measurement of samples containing rheumatoid factor, paraproteins, or other circulating immune complexes (CICs) or for lipemic or hemolyzed samples due to the unpredictable degree of nonspecific light scatter these sample types may generate. The results obtained from measuring IgG subclasses should not be used in assessing atopy in allergic patients.
