There is no special preparation required before the test. It is recommended that you wear loose fitting and simple clothes for the test. As you are required to urinate, wear lowers which are easy to use. You are not required to change or alter your diet. Drinking water and staying hydrated is highly encouraged before the test as it helps to urinate easily. If MTD is +ve and EDDP is -ve,
Methadone has directly been added to the urine sample.
If MTD is -ve and EDDP is -ve,
The person has consumed another opioid than methadone.
If MTD is +ve and EDDP is +ve,
This means actual methadone consumption.
Around 300 ml of urine will be collected from you. The whole procedure will take no more than 15 minutes.

Walk towards washroom and starts to urinate.
The major way to collect urine is called a mid-stream urine sample. You don't collect the first and last part of urine that comes out.
Close the container tightly and wash your hands thoroughly.
Hand the container to the professional.
The sample will now be carried to the research laboratory for further examination.
