Silver is exposed to the bod through various routes. Primary route of entry for silver compounds and colloidal silver proteins is through ingestion. When skin contacts silver components through application of creams, jewellery, acupuncture needles, catheters, dental amalgams etc. Soluble silver compounds are absorbed than metallic or insoluble silver due to which adverse effects is caused on human body.
