Sperm wash was first introduced in 1992 in Milan, Italy by Augusto Enrico Semprini and colleagues, with the aim of helping HIV positive Sperm washing is a term used in fertility clinics and treatment centers. Sperm wash is a process of cleaning dead and slow moving sperm as well as other chemicals which leads to impair fertilization. These sperms are used in Intrauterine insemination (IUI) (is a fertility treatment that places sperm directly into the uterus). Below steps are followed: Semen is collected after you masturbate. Refrain from sexual intercourse for two days before sperm is collected. Antibiotics are prescribed to increase the quality of sperms. Use only sterile containers provided by the sperm clinic to collect semen Do not use lubricants when collecting the semen sample.
