Best thing is get pahaari harar (or nepali harar). It's big size myrobalan which should be scrubbed against clean/ hard stone with drops of water to get a paste. Child should lick it - may add honey too. Papaya/ soaked resin/ grapes pulp made as paste by crushing/ grinding may be obtained and given 1 tsp twice a day.
Initially for two or three days help child mechanically to bring out hard stools by lubricating anus.
Warm milk with sugar at night may be given.
Slowly increase fruit pulps and reduce harar to once only and then once or twice in a week.
It's recorded in ayurveda classic texts that mother may get angry with child but not the harar. It's safe.
