A urinogram is a graphical representation of urinary elimination. It involves testing the urine and its components to determine the physical condition of the patient. The test is painless and a simple way of detecting a wide range of abnormalities of the body. The colour and thickness of the urine helps to detect the functioning or malfunctioning of the body.

The test involves no extra preparation as such, except drinking enough water to feel the pressure to urinate. In case multiple tests are being taken, you are required to fast in between.

Based on the report of the lab test, it will be known whether you have any deficiencies or excesses in your body such as: Kidney abnormalities UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) Ketones and sugar in urine are signs of high blood sugar Leokocytes and nitrite may be a sign of bacterial infection

Drink lots of water before the test to ensure proper elimination of urine. Ensure that your genital area is cleaned and washed before the test. You will then be required to urinate in a sterilised container and hand it over to the collector. It is advised to stop urinating after the first flush and collect the midstream urine to ensure proper sampling.
