Alkof Dx 4Mg/10Mg Syrup

This is a combination syrup which has Chlorpheniramine and Codeine as active ingredients. It is an antihistamine which works by blocking the action of histamine in the body. This syrup is used for relieving symptoms of sinus pressure, sinus congestion, runny nose, itching of the throat and nose, and watery eyes. Also, sneezing due to upper respiratory infections, hay fever and allergies.

This syrup is usually recommended only for a short time until your symptoms are cleared. Do not take it for longer than 7 days in a row. Some adverse effects include dizziness, confusion, anxiety, constipation, nausea, restlessness, blurred vision, dry mouth, etc.

This syrup is a first-generation antihistamine, which is used to prevent allergic symptoms from conditions such as urticaria and rhinitis. It binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. Codeine is an opioid analgesic with antitussive properties that works by binding to opioid receptors in the CNS. Specifically, it binds to mu-type, kappa-type, and delta-type opioid receptors and inhibits the secretion of neurotransmitters responsible for the transmission of pain stimuli such as GABA, substance P, acetylcholine.
