This medication is used in treating patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes, who can't control blood sugar levels through diet and exercise alone. Hence this drug is used to enhance the positive effects of diet and exercise concerning blood sugar. It is also used in combination with other antidiabetic medicines.

It is a type of sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine. This medication helps the pancreas in releasing insulin thus helping reduce the blood sugar level. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas.
