About Anafortan 25 Mg/300 Mg Tablet

Anafortan Tablet is a tablet that is used to treat stomach pain, bloating, cramps, etc. associated with various conditions such as blockage of the urinary tract, bile duct, or the intestine; painful periods, etc. It can be used alone or in a combination with other medication depending upon the clinical condition of the patient.

There are certain side effects that can occur due to the consumption of these pills. They include dryness in the mouth, tachycardia, and nausea. However, these generally go away on their own. In case they do not go away, it is best to consult your doctor regarding the same.

If you have certain health conditions, then taking this medicine might be dangerous. These health conditions are kidney problems, thyroid problems, liver issues, and heart disease. If you are pregnant or planning to be, then you should let your doctor know in case this pill is not appropriate for pregnant women.

Take exactly as directed (do not increase dose or frequency); most adverse effects are related to excessive use. Take with food or milk. While using this medication, avoid alcohol and other prescription or OTC medications that contain acetaminophen.

Maintain adequate hydration (2-3 L/day of fluids unless instructed to restrict fluid intake). This medication will not reduce inflammation; consult prescriber for anti-inflammatory, if needed. Report unusual bleeding (stool, mouth, urine) or bruising; unusual fatigue and weakness; change in elimination patterns; or change in color of urine or stool.

    How does this medication work?

    Anafortan is a combination composition of two drugs, muscle relaxant and NSAID. The former drug causes smooth muscle action and also provides anticholinergic action. Inhibition of phosphodiesterase type IV occurs as a result of the drug use. This also reduces the cytosolic calcium levels in the body. On the other hand, the latter drug inhibits COX enzyme, hence reduces the inflammation and fever like symptoms.

        Excessive intake of alcohol may increase the risk of acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity; avoid or limit alcohol intake.

        Increased toxicity: Barbiturates, carbamazepine, hydantoins, sulfinpyrazone can increase the hepatotoxic potential of acetaminophen; chronic ethanol abuse increases risk for acetaminophen toxicity; effect of warfarin may be enhanced.

        Anafortan Tablet is known to have adverse reactions with certain health conditions such as liver disease, kidney disease, acute asthma, CNS depression, and mood disorders. Thus, patients suffering from any of these are not supposed to take this medicine.

        May slightly delay absorption of extended-release preparations; rate of absorption may be decreased when given with food high in carbohydrates.
