About Avastin Injection
A monoclonal antibody and anti-angiogenesis, Avastin Injection is used to treat types of brain tumor and types of cancers. This medication functions by interfering with the growth and spread of cancerous cells in the body.
It is advised you to seek medical attention immediately on experiencing adverse effect. Common allergic reactions include swelling of facial features, hives, trouble breathing and abnormal bleeding from the mouth/nose/rectum/vagina/digestive tract/brain. The side effects of this drug are anaemia, dehydration, lymphopenia, syncope, gastrointestinal ulcers, etc.
Before using this medication you should inform your doctor if you are allergic to it or you are scheduled for a surgery in the next 28 days. Do not use this drug without consulting the doctor if you have heart diseases/high blood pressure/bleeding or blood-clotting problems or you are taking any other medications.
Ensure not to conceive for at least 6 months after end of treatment. This medication is administered into a vein via IV injection once in every 2-3 weeks. The dosage needs to be prescribed by the doctor based on your medical history and current condition.
