About Benzonatate
Benzonatate is used to treat the problem of excessive coughing caused by a number of respiratory diseases or infections such as bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia or an infectious common cold. It affects on the reflex mechanism of the lungs to prevent incessant coughing that can affect daily routine, especially meal times and sleep. The medicine is not recommended for very young children, aged below 10 years. The medicine is to be taken orally, and swallowed whole as many times a day as instructed by your doctor. Taking more medicine than the administered dosage may help to reduce the coughing but will also trigger a number of serious side effects. The medicine should not be used if you are allergic to any of the components of the drug.
