About Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup

Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup treats mild bacterial infections. This antibacterial medication stops bacteria from spreading. It helps in treating diseases such as bronchitis (infection of the air passages to the lungs), gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease) and infections of ear, throat, tonsils and urinary tract. This medication does not work for viral infections like flu.

Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup is available in the form of chewable tablets and liquid solution. It is usually taken at intervals of 12 hours for 5 to 14 days.

Take this medication at the same time every day. If you miss a dose, never take two doses at one go. Overdosing can cause harmful effects in your body. It’s better to skip a missed dose. It is important to check all the ingredients before the medication. It can help you avoid having allergic reactions later in case you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Notify your doctor if you are taking any prescribed drugs or dietary supplements. Also, if you have any history of liver disease or kidney problems, it is best to get approval from the doctor regarding the safety of this medication. This medication should not be used by pregnant women. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant soon.

Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup also causes certain side effects. Some common side effects includes diarrhea, stomach pain, gas, heartburn, nausea and vomiting. These side effects usually go away on their own. But if these symptoms are severe, you should take medical help. Some of the side effects are very severe. It includes itching of the vagina, white vaginal discharge, dark urine, stomach cramps, rash, itching, hives, difficulty in breathing, wheezing, swelling of face ,tongue throat etc.

Store Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup in a tightly closed container. Store the tablets at room temperature and away from excess heat, liquid medication should be kept at cold temperature. Dispose the liquid medications after 15 days. Keep them out of the reach of children and pets.

    • Urinary Tract Infection

      Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup is used to cure urinary tract infection caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

    • Ear Infection (Otitis Media)

      It helps in treating otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

    • Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis

      Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup cures Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and some fungal infections.

    • Bronchitis

      Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup treats bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae and some Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

    • Gonococcal Infection

      Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat Gonococcal infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

        Amikacin

        You may experiences nausea or vomiting, increased or decreased urination, sudden weight gain, fluid retention, and weakness if these medicines are used together.         Furosemide

        Chloramphenicol

        Warfarin

        You will experience increased bleeding during any injury or a cut. Regular blood tests are to be performed if you are is on these medicines. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement of the medicine should be done under doctor's supervision.

        Nifedipine

        Absorption of Cefoprox 50 MG Dry Syrup will increase when used together. Report to the doctor if you experience any undesirable effect. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement of the medicine should be done under doctor's supervision.
