CEFTUM

Ceftum is a semi-synthetic form of cephalosporin antibiotic and is used for treating various types of infections, such as ear, lung, throats, skin and urinary tract. This medicine is available in 125 mg and 3mg tablets, suspension and syrup forms and must be taken twice daily for 5 to 10 days. Some common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, headache, and vomiting. This medicine is for adults and not for children below 18 years.

My mother recently admitted to hospital with congestive heart failure LVEF 20% and got paralyzed on right side due to brain infarct on left side. After getting stable, she was discharged but again admitted after 3 days due to breathlessness. Plumo edema was diagnosed and treatment given for same. She also had Thyroid and diabetic Type 2. Again after staying one week in hospital she was discharged with following treatment:- 1/ Lasix 40mg - 3 times a day. 2/ Adalactone 50mg - 1 a day. 3/ Geminor M1 - 1/2 tab twice a day. 4/ Pan D - twice a day. 5/ Thyronorm 100 - once a day. 6/ Planep - once a day. 7/ Cordonone 200mg - twice a day. 8/ Ceftum 250 - thrice a day 9/ Clarimin 250 - once a day 10/ Darolac - thrice a day 11/ Mucimac 600 - twice a day Apart from above she is nebulised thrice a day with Levolin. I wish to know, is the treatment going on is correct or too much medicines are given? If any other important medicine can be added for early recovery from brain infarct? Can LVEF be improved from 20%? How many more years she can survive with all these ailments?

My mother is a copd patient since five days she is have irritation in the throat and cough. She is taking flohale and foratec respules regularly and since five days she is taking budecort and duonil respules. But irritation is still there.

Flohale and budecort respule should not be taken together as they serve same purpose. Try allegra 120 mf once a day with saline gargles. Add ceftum 500 1 tab twice/day if fever. Better consult a resp. Phy.

I have corns in both of my feet palms (4-5 each) since last 16-18 years. I have tried corn caps but it comes back again. Could you please suggest any solution except surgery. Also, somebody suggested me to take ceftum 500mg as this might be due to fungal infections. Is there any risk in taking this medicine. Please suggest.

You can take Homoeopathic medicine Thuja 200 , 5 drops once in a week.
Antim crud 30 , 3 drops twice daily .
revert after 15 days.

Hi From past 1month I am suffering from respiration problem and I am not able to get sound sleep. For this I got treated in columbia asia hospital, medicine which I took is cap fluor 75mg 1-0-1x 3days azee 500mg 0-1-0 x 3days ceftum 500mg 1-0-1 x 3days singulair10mg1tab at night x 1 week deal or 5mg0-0-1x1week montek 0-0-1 x 10 these tablets consumed but in night time I am having veesing.

Montek and singulair are same medicine. Try budamate 200 2 puff/twice/day with spacer as your problem can be due to asthma.

This is regarding my mother. She is 50 years old. On the 26th of october this year she felt a rise in her body temperature and thought it to be normal cold. She took paracetamol to get a temporary relief. The next day she visited the doctor, and he prescribed some medicines including an antibiotic (azifine lc) and a syrup for dry cough (zedex). The antibiotic course was of 5 days and she was fine within the first three days. As soon as the dosage was complete, she felt a rise in her body temperature again on 2nd november. Doctor had already asked for some blood test results accounting the factor that the fever had not gone down. So before giving a second visit to the doctor the blood tests for dengue, malaria, typhoid, urine routine and culture were undertaken. Every test proved to be negative except the the routine test of urine. There were a presence of 20-50 pus cells. The doctor thought that indicated urine infection and prescribed a new set of medicines; and asked to wait for the culture report. There were still a number of days left for the culture report, and the antibiotics given seemed to have no effect. There was an onset of fever every eight hours after taking paracetamols. Finally on 7th nov the culture report was out and it showed no growth of micro organisms. The doctor was baffled as he thought it to be an urine infection. He suggested a chest xray and a lower abdomen usg. The chest xray was normal while the ultrasound scan reflected a presence of a tumor in the uterus. The doctor finally concluded this entire scenario of 16 days to be a viral fever, and prescribed ceftum 500. Things have deteriorated further now. The body temperature records 102 degree fahrenheit and lately the fever was accompanied with chills. Could you please suggest what should be the next step? I don't know where things are going. Your replies would be very helpful.

Hello sir/mam. My age is 57 years, I have undergone second time PTCA [LAD 100%] and [RCA 70%], 3 stunts have been introduced, earlier also I have undergone PTCA [LAD 95%]. I am DM+HTN patient, my present medicines are TAB CEFTUM 500MG / TAB BRILLINTA 90MG / TAB COLSPRIN 100MG / TAB ROZUKKA 20MG / TAB PINOM A / TAB CYBLEX M 60 XR / TAB DYTOR 10MG, my blood sugar level pp is 130 and BP is 120/80, I go for a regular brisk walk daily of 6 km, my driving is about one an a half hour daily, my problem is long breathing after luch, BP shoots up upto 150/90, less sleep and heavy stomach after lunch and dinner, some times small pain in left hand, I feel tired and exhausted in the evening, my office work is supply chain management which requires 8-10hours daily which is heavy stressful work. Please suggest how can I regain my normal life.

You must exercise daily for at least 30 minutes, maintain your ideal body weight, follow a good diet, sleep properly, drink water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated, avoid alcohol and stop smoking if you do.
