About Cisapride 1 MG Syrup

Cisapride 1 MG Syrup treats heartburn in case of patients who suffer from GERD, that is, gastro-esophageal reflux disease. This drug effectively increases the movement of the digestive tract, which includes the esophagus, stomach and the intestines so that digestion becomes faster. This medication also improves the function of the lower esophageal sphincter by making it stronger. The rate at which the stomach empties the digested food into the intestines also increases in case of patients who are taking this medication.

There are some serious health risks that are related with the intake of Cisapride 1 MG Syrup. Thus it is only prescribed to patients who have been unable to experience any relief from heartburn through lifestyle changes and other milder medication. It is recommended to not to take Cisapride 1 MG Syrup in case you are allergic. Do not take this medication if you have a stomach obstruction, heart disease,blocked arteries, irregular heartbeat, long OT syndrome running in the family, defect in heart structure, kidney and lung problems.

Some medications may also interfere with the action of Cisapride 1 MG Syrup. Women who are pregnant or planning to conceive or are breastfeeding are advised not to take Cisapride 1 MG Syrup. Some serious side effects of the drug include irregular heartbeat, feeling faint and severe diarrhea. You may also experience nausea, stomach pain and the tendency to urinate frequently. Do not overdose this medication. Cisapride 1 MG Syrup should be stored in a clean dry place, between 15-30 degrees Celsius.

    • Non-Ulcer Dyspepsia

      Cisapride 1 MG Syrup treats non-ulcer or functional dyspepsia. Symptoms may include fullness, discomfort and sometimes pain of the stomach.

    • Gastroparesis

      Cisapride 1 MG Syrup helps in treating condition where movement of food from the stomach is very slow resulting in delayed emptying.

    What are the contraindications of Cisapride 1 MG Syrup ?

    • Allergy

      Cisapride 1 MG Syrup is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of allergy to Cisapride or any other ingredient present along with it.

    • Gastrointestinal Haemorrhage

      Cisapride 1 MG Syrup is not recommended for use in patients having internal bleeding of the stomach and intestine. This may be attributed to various reasons including a ruptured bowel (Gastrointestinal Perforation).

    • Mechanical Bowel Obstruction

      This medication is not recommended for use in patients having a blockage in the intestine.
