About Clavilip 10 Capsule

This medication is composed of Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or “bad cholesterol” in the body. The capsule also helps in curing various conditions like narrowing of arteries that arises due to high cholesterol levels in the body. It can also reduce the amount of liver fat in the body.

Use of this drug must be as per directed by the doctor. It is important to take a regular dose for best results. It is harmful to use this medication if you are suffering from any liver diseases. You should also consult with your doctor regarding the intake of this drug in case you are suffering from kidney disease or undergoing dialysis.

    How does this medication work?

    It is a prodrug with anticoagulatory properties that is broken down by CYP450 enzymes to its active metabolite that prevents adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from binding to its platelet P2Y12 receptor. This inhibits the ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, which in turn inhibits coagulation. The medicine also increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.
