About Colospa X Tablet
Colospa X Tablet helps treat symptoms of intestinal disorders and irritable bowel problems, such as spastic colitis, spastic constipation, colon irritation and mucous colitis.
This medicine is a combination of Mebeverine, Chlordiazepoxide, which belongs to the group of medicines called anti-spasmodics and benzodiazepines respectively. The dosage for this medicine should be determined by your doctor based on the patient specifications.
It helps relax intestinal muscles, which in turn reduces pain and irritability. Colospa X Tablet can only be prescribed to children who are above the age of 10 years. The drug can only be prescribed to children below the age of 10 if absolutely necessary.
Although Colospa X Tablet acts as an over-the counter drug, it is always best that you take it after consulting your medical provider. This is primarily because you may experience certain side effects or even an allergic reaction in some cases, once you start taking Colospa X Tablet.
Some common side effects of Colospa X Tablet are problems with breathing and swelling of the hands and face. An allergic reaction to Colospa X Tablet can result in hives, skin rashes and irritation.
Before using this drug inform your doctor if:

Symptoms of overdose include hypotension, respiratory depression, coma, hypothermia, cardiac arrhythmias.
Treatment for benzodiazepine overdose is supportive; rarely is mechanical ventilation required; flumazenil has been shown to selectively block the binding of benzodiazepines to CNS receptors, resulting in a reversal of benzodiazepine-induced CNS depression. Respiratory depression may not be reversed.
