How does this medication work?
This syrup works as a painkiller is expressed by its σ–receptor agonist activity. Noscapine along with its synthetic derivatives, noscapine's, halt cancer cell multiplication by interacting with microtubules. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation antihistamine, which is used to prevent allergic symptoms from conditions such as urticaria and rhinitis. This drug binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant. It decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Also, it is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
