How does this medication work?
Coscopin Syrup belongs to the class of drugs known as an antitussive, which is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough centre in the brain. It contains Ammonium Chloride, Noscapine and Sodium Citrate as working ingredients. Ammonium chloride decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Sodium citrate thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
