Cyra-D Capsule SR

Cyra D Capsule is indicated for treating GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease), which not responds to Rabeprazole medications alone. It prevents the tendency of vomiting and nausea in people suffering from gastrointestinal problems.

Cyra-D Capsule SR is a combination of Domperidone and Rabeprazole. The active ingredients, Domperidone and Rabeprazole fall under the class of dopamine antagonist and PPI (Proton pump inhibitor), respectively.

Cyra D Capsule is also prescribed to the patients of peptic ulcer and who take certain medicines for Parkinson’s disease. The medicine tightens the muscles near the entrance of the stomach and relaxes the ones present at the exit.

The action of this medication helps to speed up the passing of the food that you intake - from your stomach to your intestine, reducing the feeling of nausea and sickness, also preventing vomiting.

You are advised not to take Cyra-D Capsule SR if you have the following conditions:

• An allergy to Cyra-D Capsule SR or any other ingredient of this medicine
• Bleeding problems or blockage in your stomach or in the intestine
• Tumour in the pituitary gland
• Cardiac disease
• Incorrect levels of magnesium, potassium or calcium in the blood
• Severe/moderate liver impairment

  Cyra d tablet is not safe with alcohol. If you experience certain symptoms such as stomach bleeding or ulcers, then you must speak to your doctor immediately.

  No, this medicine is not safe for pregnant women as it can affect the fetus.

• Are there any breast-feeding warnings?

  No, this medicine is not safe for breastfeeding women as it can affect the baby.

• Is it safe to drive while on this medicine?

  As some of the side effects of this pill include drowsiness, it is not advisable to drive after taking the pill.

• Does this affect kidney function?

  Patients who have impaired kidney function should not take this pill as it can lead to more kidney problems.

  Patients who have impaired liver function should not take this capsule as it can lead to more liver problems, including liver failure.

• Are there any missed dose instructions?

  If you miss a dose, you should take one as soon as you remember that you’ve missed the dose.

• Are there any overdose instructions?

  If you have overdosed on the pill, you must consult your doctor immediately. Certain signs of overdose include fast heartbeat, weakness, fainting and confusion.

Cyra D Capsule attaches to the dopaminergic receptors without causing any release of the chemical dopamine. It, in turn, facilitates gastric emptying and decreases small bowel transit time. Also, it binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

• Interaction with Alcohol

  When taken with alcohol, this pill can increase the patients risk of developing stomach ulcers and bleeding.

• Interaction with Lab Test

  The patients taking this medicine have been reported for false results, as it interacts with investigations of Neuroendocrine Tumors, Secretin Stimulation Test, Urine Tests for THC. Thus an alternative confirmatory test should be considered to verify the results.

• Interaction with Medicine

  Concomitant use of Antiretrovirals, warfarin, methotrexate, digoxin, Drugs Dependent on Gastric pH for Absorption (e.g., iron salts, erlotinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, mycophenolate mofetil, ketoconazole, itraconazole), tacrolimus, antiarrhythmics, apomorphine, protease inhibitors, systemic azole antifungals, some macrolides (erythromycin, clarithromycin and telithromycin) is contraindicated.

• Interaction with Disease

  It can have negative interactions with certain diseases. These include asthma, impaired kidney function, and gastro-intestinal toxicity.

• Interaction with Food

  There are no negative interactions with food.
