About Diamicron Xr 60Mg Tablet

This medication falls in the category of oral hypoglycemic. It is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Diamicron Xr helps to control the blood sugar levels in the body. It activates the pancreas to secrete more insulin. Also, it supports the body in utilizing insulin more effectively.

This medication is used when other methods of treatment such as diet, weight loss and exercise have failed to produce the desired results. The dosage of this medication varies from 80 mg to 320 mg daily. If one is to take a dose more than 160 mg then the dose is divided into two equal parts. It is recommended to avoid modifying the dose without consulting the doctor.

This medication also has some side effects that are not experienced by everyone taking it. The side effects are – dizziness, stomach cramps, joint pain, gastrointestinal problems, headaches, and increased skin sensitivity. Consult a doctor if you experience these side effects.
