About Diclogem Tablet
Diclogem Tablet is a non steroidal anti- inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is a combination of two drugs, namely, Diclofenac and Paracetamol. It functions by halting the production of cyclooxygenase, which creates prostaglandin.
Cyclooxygenase is the reason of the pain, inflammation and swelling which is caused during arthritis. This painkiller is most commonly used to cure pain and swelling caused during arthritis.
Other than that it is also used to treat menstrual pain, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue sports injuries, frozen shoulder, dislocations and fractures, tendonitis, bone and joint surgery and dental surgery.
The medicine shows fewer side effects which are common and mild in nature. They may not necessarily occur. If the patient experiences them for a longer period or in a severe way, it is advised to inform the doctor immediately.
Patient who has undergone a bypass heart surgery or is about to get one should not take this medicine. Smokers and alcoholics should also avoid taking this medicine as it may cause greater harm to them.
It is advised that the patient inform the doctor about any ongoing disease or history of any disease and any medicine he is administrating before starting the course of Diclogem Tablet. It should not be stopped abruptly, the course should be completed as prescribed by the doctor.
Use with caution in patients with congestive heart failure, dehydration, hypertension, decreased renal or hepatic function, history of GI disease, or those receiving anticoagulants. Symptoms of overdose include acute renal failure, vomiting, drowsiness, leukocytosis.
Management of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) intoxication is primarily supportive and symptomatic. Fluid therapy is commonly effective in managing the hypotension that may occur following an acute NSAID overdose, except when this is due to an acute blood loss.
